i'm a little sad today. this weekend, we have a family reunion. we had planned on going and taking some friends with us. partly because they have become like family, and partly because they have a large car that we can all fit in. one of them had to work this weekend, and was unable to find someone to cover her. my sister, stephanie, decided that she wanted to take my two older kids anyway. she came up last night. this morning, we got things ready for the kids to go. around 1:30p, they were all packed up and ready to leave.
i was thinking that having them gone would make things a little easier, and that it would be nice to not have all the screaming and yelling that goes on when they are home. but, i find myself really missing my older kids. not only that, but i had REALLY been looking forward to going to the reunion myself.

hair
this morning, elizabeth got some fruit juice in her hair. she tried to get it out by cutting it out. after i caught her with the scissors in her hands, and pieces of hair missing, she told me she wanted her hair cut. i told her that i would be willing to cut her hair, but I had to do it, and we would have to wash it first. so, we proceeded to wash her hair in the tub, and then i chopped it off.
when i got done with elizabeth's hair, shannon wanted hers done as well. i basically just trimmed shannons. but as the front of her hair was so much shorter than the back, it really does look like i chopped it.

i can no longer look for the hair when i'm looking for elizabeth though. it made it a little difficult to find her after lunch at the park.

differences
it's kind of funny how different the kids are.
taylor is almost always willing to pitch in and do what we've asked. we occasionally have a problem, but it's usually when he feels picked on. i rely on him a lot, because i don't get much help from the girls at all.
elizabeth fights every attempt i make to clean at all. her bedroom, the table for dinner, the front room. she doesn't like to clean. well, news flash, neither do i.
shannon will randomly help. when she feels like it, and she's not trying to do something else.
ashley and michael follow behind and undo everything faster than we can clean it up.
