so, the lady who wanted the gingerbread house did some searching, and discovered how long it can take to make one. she came to us and told us not to worry about making the house.
we both decided that we were a little glad, but sad too. we were both looking forward to doing it, and yet we really didn't have the time.

well, it's probably for the better--and it's nice to know there are others in the world who are willing to recognize the kind of pressure they may inadvertently put on others!
You can still put together a house with your kids. :) I've been tossing that idea around, but I'd just use frosting and graham cracker, otherwise, in this house, it'd never get finished! :P
